This weekend, the Delhi Heritage Photography Club will explore the unknown and forgotten monuments of one of the busiest posh markets of Delhi, South Extension (Part 1).

The troupe will start walking from Darya Khan's Tomb situated right in the middle of East Kidwai Nagar behind South Ex 1. We will then proceed to Kale Khan's Tomb near McDonald's of South Ex (Part 1), not to be confused with the McDonald's situated on ring road (South Ex Part II).
After clicking this beautiful garden tomb, we will proceed to see the complex containing tombs of Chhote Khan, Bade Khan and Bhure Khan, situated in South Ex (Part 1).
If time permitted, we will walk few more steps and enter the street maze of Kotla Mubarakpur to explore the totally hidden mosque of Mubarak Shah Sayyid, one of the rulers of Delhi. His magnificent octagonal tomb is few meters away from the mosque and is considered as a shrine. If we are lucky, we can check that before it is closed.

How to Reach

Own Car
Coming from Ring Road: Take a turn before MAAC of South Ex and come on road coming straight to Kidwai Nagar (East). You'll reach a round about with some old historic pillars (It's our meeting point). Coming from Safdarjung/INA: After you cross INA, skip the first road (turning immediately after INA towards the Barapullah Flyover). Instead take the next road, going inside towards East Kidwai Nagar. It will reach a huge round-about (Darya Khan's Tomb), our meeting point.

Coming by Metro: Get down at AIIMS or INA Metro Station. Walk till the entry for Kidwai Nagar East and then walk (or take an auto) till you reach the round about. It is exactly 800 mtrs. from either metro stations.

Precautions

Since South Ex is very crowded and parking is a major trouble there, we have planned to start our walk from other side (East Kidwai Nagar). So don't get confused with the name "South Ex" and read the How to reach instructions carefully.
